Introducing Space Channel 5 VR
Hmm, stand-alone is a good choice then. I’d either go for the Oculus Go now if you can’t wait. Also, if you’re in the Northern hemisphere you’re probably likely to get more use out of it over the winter period. You could always sell that and get the Quest when it launches next year if you wanted to. The Vive focus is also due to come out soon-ish but I haven’t heard anything about dates yet.
It depends on your budget and what you’re looking to do with the headset to be honest.
Are you playing games seriously or just casually?
Is your budget under $200 or up to $400?
Haha, I mean like lying on the couch or bed chilling. There’s loads of games and experiences you can do lying down… 😅
Normally sitting/ lying down but some games standing.
Yeah not quite ready for consumer prime time but definitely exciting as that’s something that will definitely become mainstream in the next 10 years or so for sure!
Anyone else? We need more top 3’s…. 🙂
Yeah that looks amazing! Can’t wait for this quality of AR to get cheaper and mainstream…exciting!
Also Abode I think….but not tried myself.
Op – I expect you to die?
Yeah with actiony games where you’re moving about a lot, it can be a little tricky. Roll on high performance standalone headset gaming!!!
Hey Walter! How’s Jessie? 👋🏼
I think a lot of the main VR headsets come with a glasses spacer that you can insert before playing which gives you enough room to allow you to have the headset on comfortably without any issues. I know my Oculus Go even came with one of these.
Most of the ones I’ve tried come with one of those small screen clothes – the really smooth ones. Sorry dunno what they’re called, don’t think they’re microfibre.
Sorry but that’s quite funny. Not sure it’s completely legit though. Why would you feel burning and not take the set off your head. I’ve never seen something to that degree before but if you do shave your head and play VR for extended period you could always put a cloth or something on top of your head before you start.
I guess Pokemon Go did this but I’m sure there will be others when it catches on a bit more that let you play inside a limited area.
Does anyone know when this is supposed to happen? I’m probably a little out of touch with the whole space scene.
VR in space though sounds awesome!!
